DRY NEEDLING (DN)

Dry Needling (DN) is a therapeutic technique that involves the insertion of a solid, sterile, filiform stainless steel needle into a specific, selected part of the body. The goal is to achieve a desired myofascial response to the underlying tissue to decrease pain and improve movement impairments. Dry Needling is often times compared to Acupuncture, but it is widely different. Acupuncture involves the balancing of energy flow, also known as meridians. DN focuses on the musculoskeletal system and muscular dysfunction.
